The Manchester Grammar School Admissions Guide for 11 Plus Entry
Assessment Day is held at Manchester Grammar School for all prospective pupils. Each guy attends school for a full day, taking part in lessons and numerous group activities. The sessions cover new subjects that the boys have not previously been taught and include arithmetic. The boys will be evaluated on what they have learnt over the day and asked to create a piece of creative writing. This form of evaluation is used by MGS because it helps with selection by providing a clear picture of how well each boy fits the educational philosophy of the institution.
