The deadline for registering with the schools is in November of the year before entry. A registration fee of £250 should be sent with the registration form, which is available here.

Exams are administered twice as part of the admissions process. The Stage 1 exam, which was administered in November of the year before entrance, was an online Reasoning test. Midway through December, you will receive word of your daughter’s results.
Successful applicants will be required to take a Stage 2 exam in early January. Your kid will be given the opportunity to participate in a 15-minute interview if she does well later that month.

Stage 1 St Paul’s Girls’ 11 Plus exam format is CEM Select. Through a series of quick online modules, the online test (CEM Select) evaluates verbal, non-verbal, and numerical ability.

Mathematics / English / Comprehension
Mathematics
The questions on the mathematics paper are a mix of potential-identifying questions. There are three 25 minute portions in the paper. Simple “sums” questions are included in the first section’s questions to test your understanding of the basics of mathematics. The third segment may have multi-part questions that are based on content the students may have never seen before. The second section will address topics that are more problem-solving in style. Multi-part questions that are based on content that the students may have never seen before may be present in the third section.
English
The close reading of a literary writing passage is required for the English paper. Ten questions about the text are posed to candidates. Some will ask for feedback on the meaning and impact of specific words and phrases, while others will include the extraction of information. Technical accuracy is not graded specifically, although we always want to see accurate spelling and punctuation. Genuine evidence of delight and engagement, cautious inference, and language affect sensitivity are of great interest to them. On the basis of the passage, several of the questions will need lengthy inventive writing assignments. There isn’t an area just for creative writing. There is no requirement to learn and utilise a large vocabulary, even though we want to see signs of one.
Comprehension
The theme-based comprehension paper aims to gauge students’ comprehension in the broadest sense possible. Deduction, inference, information extraction, and information organisation skills, as well as assessment, comparison, pattern and link recognition, and reasoning skills, are all included in this. There is no prerequisite knowledge needed, but the KS2 scientific inquiry abilities may come in handy when evaluating the content and presenting the facts.

Available scholarships:
- Scholarships at 11+: Music scholarships are the only ones given out for 11+ entrants. The Director of Music and other music personnel conduct practical auditions and interviews before awarding music scholarships. They are now worth £1,680 a year and are based on the cost of two instrument/voice lessons. When students can apply for a 16+ (Year 12) scholarship for their final two years at St. Paul’s, their music scholarships at 11+ are renewable for five years. Following the auditions, the Director of Music may, at his or her discretion, also grant music exhibitions. They presently cost £840 a year and are based on the cost of one instrument or voice lesson. The same five years apply to exhibitions as they do to scholarships.

- Scholarships at 16+: The criteria for awarding art scholarships include attendance at a workshop day, discussion of a portfolio, and a brief interview with the director of art and other art professionals. Scholars will participate fully and responsibly in the school’s artistic life, and they are based on the amount of £250 per year that is tenable for the two years of Senior School. Please be aware that applicants for scholarships must be applying to study art at the A level.

- 16+ Drama Scholarships: Candidates who demonstrate exceptional promise as actors or directors are given drama scholarships after an audition, workshop, and interview with our director of drama and other drama personnel. They are predicated on a yearly allowance of £250 for the two years of senior high school. Please be aware that scholarship applicants frequently study drama at the A-level level; however, those who can show a strong commitment to co-curricular drama will also be taken into consideration.

Q: Does the school offer bursaries and scholarships?

Q: Is there a limit on how far students can travel to school each day?
Students must reside within a reasonable driving distance of the school, and they reserve the right to reject an application if we believe the student would have to make an unreasonably difficult journey. They have a detailed admissions policy available.
Q: Are boarding facilities available?
Since St. Paul’s is a day school without boarding options, they are therefore unable to accommodate international students but overseas students are accepted if they are accompanied with their parents. The school has a rule that all students must complete their whole education while residing in London with their parents. Since they do not sponsor Tier 4 visas for applicants, they would anticipate that students would be protected as a dependent under a parent’s visa status.
Q: Does the school accept overseas applications?
Several pupils join us each year from overseas and your application is most welcome.
For 11+ entry, we can arrange for applicants to sit their assessment overseas at a local British Council office. You simply need to make contact with your local British Council office to confirm that they will invigilate the assessment, and provide with their contact details. They will then email the papers and instructions to them in order for them to conduct the assessment. The completed papers will then be returned to us for marking.
All interviews will be conducted remotely, and we will try to schedule them to a convenient time for your time zone. Please note that you will not be able to sit the examinations at your current school.
