Oundle School

Oundle School is a co-educational public boarding school for pupils aged 11-18. The School is located in Northamptonshire, England. The school was founded by Sir William Laxton in 1556, the current headmistress is Sarah Kerr-Dineen. The School has a capacity of 1160 pupils and now educates 1109 pupils.
At 2022 I/GCSE, 42 % of grades were awarded grade 9, 68 % were awarded 9 or 8, whilst 85 % were graded at 9-7. 20 pupils achieved grade 9s across the board, while overall one in four pupils achieved all grade 9s and 8s.
At 2022 A level, 35% of grades awarded were at A* or equivalent, with 65% A*A and 87% A*–B. A high proportion of pupils immediately secured a place at one of their chosen universities, including 17 pupils with Oxbridge offers.

Oundle School Admissions Guide for 11 Plus Entry
It is advised that you enrol your child as soon as possible if you are interested in having them enter as an 11+ student in 2024. The Admissions Office can provide registration forms upon request, and a £250 non-refundable registration fee is also needed at this time.
It would be desirable for all international candidates to give the school a UKiset report before registering if they are applying from outside the UK. UKiset is an adaptive cognition exam that gauges both linguistic and underlying abilities.
2023 Oundle School 11+ Exam Format
Assessments will be processed in January 2024. The 11+ Entrance Examination includes papers in maths, science, english, and a cognitive ability test for kids. Candidates who take the Oundle exams have an informal interview and spend the night in our junior boarding house. The same entry requirements and entrance exams are taken by all international applicants as well as UK applicants. Those who aren’t taking the test at Oundle School should plan to take it elsewhere where a British Council office is located.

Beyond the Classroom
Teachers from all disciplines direct electives and societies that are a reflection of their extracurricular interests and talents. Many are managed by senior students. They provide students the chance to widen their horizons academically and explore creative, literary, cultural, or athletic endeavours without having to be evaluated on them. They provide students the ability to go further into subjects that greatly interest them, like dissection and photography, as well as the chance to try something new, like bridge or shooting. Most importantly, they are made to be enjoyable and celebrate the love of learning.
