The commitment of curriculum time on Monday afternoons, five Field Days spread throughout the year, as well as the availability of frequent domestic and international travel, demonstrate the priority placed on this enrichment. There is something for everyone, from sceptics to debaters, chess enthusiasts to aspiring business owners, the Combined Cadet Force to the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. If not, the pupils found a brand-new civilization. Clubs are mostly managed by students for students, with guidance and involvement from faculty. Find more about clubs and societies.
FAQ
- Does taking the ISEB Common pre-test at the RGS have any benefits?
No. Wherever your kid takes the test, the ISEB will analyse the data separately before sharing it (with all those independent senior schools using these tests to which your son is applying). It doesn’t matter where he takes the exam, and we won’t make any distinctions when we analyse the findings. However, all boys will travel to the RGS for the interview and the composition/creative writing assignment.
- Who is eligible to take the RGS test? What should happen if my son’s prep school refuses to permit him to take the test there?
The online test is often taken by applicants for primary school at one of the senior schools that the candidate plans to attend. During Covid restrictions, it was highly advised to choose the location that was nearest to you. Candidates for prep schools take the online exams at their own prep schools. Your youngster is invited to take these exams at the RGS if for some reason this is not possible.
- Our son will probably take the test at RGS as he is at a primary school. What technology will be used for the test so we can help him prepare?
Each desktop and ultra-book will have a mouse linked to it, making the setup the same for all applicants.
