Norwich School is a co-educational, independent day school for pupils aged 4-18, situated in Norwich. The school has a long history and it is one of the oldest schools in the UK. It was an episcopal grammar school in 1096 founded by Herbert de Losinga. The school has a capacity of 1175 and now educates around 1144 pupils. The headmaster of the School is Mr Steffan Griffiths.

In 2022 GCSEs, 35.96% pupils achieved grade 9, 59.82% grades 8/9, 80.70% grades 7/8/9.

In 2022 A Levels, 33.33% grades A*, 65.64% grades A*-A.

You’ll get an official acknowledgement with more details shortly after the application is submitted. You will be informed about the evaluations in January when the application deadline has passed. Children dress whatever they choose to go. In addition to a brief written evaluation, kids will take a computerised CAT4 test. The kids are then asked back to the school for an interview and an activity session on a different day.

2023 Norwich School 11+ Exam Format 

The following sections that make up Norwich School’s 11+ examination are English, Verbal Reasoning and Mathematics. Spelling, grammar, and inference are among the comprehension and writing abilities that are stressed in the English paper. The maths exam measures the students’ aptitude for computation and problem-solving. There will be questions on measuring, geometry, algebra, and statistics on the test. The Verbal Reasoning exam is meant to assess students’ use of reasoning, vocabulary, and the English language.

Norwich School Bursaries and Scholarships 

The Norwich School scholarship program offers enrichment programs that are intended to maximize each grant recipient’s abilities and knowledge. Academic achievement (age 11+, 13+, and 16+ entrance); music (age 11+, 13+, and 16+ entry); sport (age 11+, 13+, and 16+ entry); art & design (age 16+ only); and theatre (age 16+ only) are the five disciplines in which the Senior School provides tailored scholarship programs. The emphasis of the funding for these scholarship programs will be on enhancing the educational experience of the students and the activities that the scholars will take part in. Senior school students with exceptional skill and promise are given the opportunity to participate in the scholarship programs. There is a lot to do at Norwich School, but it is not required that you participate in everything.
