Located in Mottingham, South East London, Eltham College is an independent day school that serves students in grades 7 through 18. It belongs to the Conference of Headmasters and Headmistresses. The College admits students in our Junior School starting at age 7 and continuing through age eleven. When external pupils who pass the admission exam join them, they move into the Senior School and stay there until they are 11 years old.
Nearly two-thirds of outcomes from the GCSE in 2022 were 9/8 marks, and 85% of all grades were 9/8/7.
44% of the marks for the 2022 A Levels were A*, while 74% were either A* or A. A*-B was earned in nearly 90% of A Level exams.

Eltham College Admissions Guide for 11 Plus Entry
To be considered for a position at the College, all prospective candidates must submit the relevant registration form and a £150 non-refundable application fee. Upon registration approval, a space is not immediately made available.
After registration is completed, we will contact each prospective applicant to make arrangements for the admission tests.
Those who are successful will be given a place to study at Eltham College. In exchange for their child’s admission to Eltham College, parents who accept a spot must pay a deposit and sign a contract outlining the general terms and conditions. The candidate’s current school must also provide glowing recommendations before a position would be offered.

2023 Eltham College 11+ Exam Format
Year 7 entrance exams for external candidates include written sections in maths and english as well as a computer-adaptive verbal and nonverbal reasoning test. Additionally, each applicant will meet one-on-one with a senior member of the teaching staff.
After offers are made in February, they will invite those who have accepted them to Eltham College for a morning or afternoon of classes so they can see what it’s like to study here.
The Sixth Form is open to students who have been admitted for entrance into Year 7 without the need for additional testing. However, in order to enrol in A levels, a student must have completed six GCSE subjects with a mark of 7 or better.

Eltham College Bursaries and Scholarships
For Senior School and Sixth Form applicants who meet the standard academic standards for admittance into the College, a number of scholarships are offered. Following the proper evaluation and interview, scholarships are given at the headmaster’s discretion to the most qualified applicants or those who have demonstrated a high degree of potential.
At the 11+ entry level, academic scholarships as well as awards for athletic prowess, musical prowess, dramatic prowess, and artistic prowess are available. Both junior high school pupils and applicants from outside the school are given the same consideration.
Both existing Eltham College students and candidates from outside the college are eligible for sixth form academic scholarships. One can apply for drama scholarships as well as a small number of sports, music, and art scholarships.
Open Days
Families who are shortlisting schools for admissions applications should visit each school as part of their decision-making process. Parents and kids may meet Eltham College students and staff, tour of facilities, and get a feel of what it’s like to be a student at Eltham College.
Open Mornings for the Junior School, Senior School (Year 7) and Sixth Form (Year 12) have all been held in preparation for 2023 entrance.
In September 2023, the next Whole School Open Day will be held for individuals interested in entering the Junior School, Year 7, or Year 12 in 2024. The event will accept reservations beginning in April 2023.
Beyond the Classroom
Eltham College encourages students to take part in co-curricular activities to challenge themselves and take risks. They are given the chance to join sports, music, drama, clubs and societies and career learning.
