Chigwell School Admissions Guide for 11 Plus Entry 

Please submit the online registration form together with the £100.00 registration fee (please note that this is non-refundable). Since information on the dates of the exam and interview is sent out at this time, it is advisable to register by October 31.

Date of Application Closure: Application submissions must be received by Friday, November 25, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.

Interview Schedule: Interviews will take place the week starting Monday, October 3, the week starting Monday, November 7, 2022, and once again the week starting Monday, January 9, 2023.

2023 Chigwell School 11+ Exam Format 

At Chigwell School, the 11+ test consists of the following papers: English and Mathematics. The purpose of the English paper is to assess the student’s reading, comprehension, and writing abilities. It has sections for technical information, reading, and writing. The standard formatted maths test is intended to gauge students’ proficiency in arithmetic, algebra, and problem-solving.

Chigwell School Bursaries and Scholarships 

Scholarships are given each year, notably at the 11+ and upon entering the sixth form, and are given in acknowledgment of academic excellence regardless of financial resources (day place applicants only). In conclusion, the scholarships offered are: Academic scholarships are granted at 11+, 13+, and upon entering the sixth form. Music scholarships are awarded at the same ages, as well as at 11+, 13+, and upon entering the sixth form. The registration form allows for the submission of scholarship and bursary applications.

Open Days

11+ Open Morning: 15th of October, Saturday, 2022. Tours begin at 10:00 and 11:00, and speeches by the headmaster and head of junior school are held at 10:30 and 11:00, respectively.
