Altrincham Grammar 11 plus (for girls) Admissions Process: 2024 Entry
For entry to the school in 2024, parents will need to register their child for the 11 plus entrance exam. The school is part of the Trafford Grammar Schools GL Consortium (TGSCC), which uses the GL 11 plus assessment. Altrincham Grammar School for Girls’ 11 Plus Exam
Altrincham Grammar School for Girls is a selective Academy Grammar School that manages its own admissions. It is part of the Trafford Grammar School Consortium, which includes Altrincham Grammar School for Boys, Sale Grammar School, Stretford Grammar School, and Urmston Grammar School. GL Assessment has been selected as the test provider for the Year 7 entry test from 2023 and onwards. The test will consist of mathematics, verbal reasoning, and non-verbal reasoning, as per the admission policies. GL Assessment will create a unique test paper for the Trafford Consortium, which will not be the same as the papers used by other schools. The test will comprise of two papers, each approximately one hour long, and will test all three skills. Registration details for the entrance exam will be available on the schools’ websites in the spring term of 2023.

Altrincham Grammar 11 Plus: Additional Information about AGGS
The school offers a broad curriculum, and at Key Stage 3, pupils are taught in mixed ability groups. During that time, pupils will choose two of the three Modern Foreign Languages on offer, including French, German, and Spanish. At Key Stage 4, both English Language, English Literature, and mathematics are mandatory. Following the EBacc system, GCSE pupils will also need to choose from either History or Geography (can select both) one of the languages studied at KS3 and a science (single or multiple).
