Loughborough High School Admissions Guide for 11 Plus Entry
Exams are scheduled for Year 7 admission in January. The purpose of the admission exams is to determine how much academic potential your child actually possesses. A senior staff member will be interviewed as well.
Your daughter will be asked for a report from her present school, but she won’t be punished if she doesn’t produce one. An application for admission must be submitted together with a non-refundable registration fee of £100 per applicant.
2023 Loughborough High School 11+ Exam Format
The parts that make up the Loughborough High School 11+ exam are online exams in English and Maths which are similar to CEM Select.
The comprehension component of the English exam, which is 50 minutes long uses comprehension questions to gauge students’ comprehension of written texts. These include clarifying the author’s intent, making logical deductions, and comprehending and elaborating on word meanings.
The writing portion of the exam assesses your capacity for clear meaning communication, engaging writing, and the display of originality, creativity, and thinking. The usage of a broad vocabulary and a range of sentence forms are also examined in this essay. The required level of spelling and punctuation is fair. The exam takes forty minutes.

| 7. Accepting a proposal | We ask that offers be accepted by the time period noted in the offer letter. When a girl’s parents accept an offer of a spot, they will be requested to pay a deposit. Loughborough High School Bursaries and Scholarships
You can apply for a music scholarship by letting us know in the appropriate box on the registration form.
Strong academic candidates who transfer to Loughborough High School from a state school are eligible for the Sir Thomas White Trust Scholarship.
SAP: School Assisted Place A limited number of important school assisted places, covering up to 50% of costs, are available (larger bursaries may be available, dependent on exceptional performance at GCSE). These rely on how well students perform on the GCSE exams, on family income, and on attending a meeting at the school. On the registration form, please specify whether you wish to apply for a SAP.
