A Brief Overview of Langley Grammar School and its Performance
Langley Grammar School was originally founded in 1955. The school has recently undergone development and in 2020 the school finished the construction of its new building, called ‘the modern building’. Langley Grammar School’s results are well above the national average. In 2019, 64% of GCSE grades were levels 7-9 (old style a or A*) – 40% of these were level 8 or 9 (old style A*). 35% of A-level results were graded A* or A and 66% of entries achieved A*-B. In 2020, 4 students were offered places at Oxford and Cambridge . In terms of studxsent make up, approximately 61% of pupils speak English as a second language, 7% are on free school meals and 2% have some support for special educational needs.
In 2022 GCSEs percentage of 9 grades was 45.1, 9-8 was 70.4, 9-7 was 84.7 and 9-5 was 99.2. In 2022 A Levels 34.6 percent of the grades were A*, 71.7 were A/A*. 85.4 were A*-B and 94 A*-C.

Preparing for Langley Grammar Slough 11 Plus
The Slough Consortium of Grammar Schools has hired GL Assessment to conduct the 11+ exams in September 2023, 2024, and 2025. The format of the exam will be similar to previous years, with two test papers covering verbal and non-verbal reasoning, English, and math. GL Assessment will be responsible for marking and standardizing the exams, and a score of 111 or above will make a pupil eligible for consideration for a grammar school place. The Slough Consortium has its own contract with GL Assessment, and scores will not be shared with other schools. Parents should read information on the grammar schools’ websites and attend the online information event on Tuesday 25th April 2023.

Langley Grammar School is one of the most diverse schools in Slough, with half of students coming from Asian/British-Indian backgrounds. The school is known for its innovation, and is one of thirty schools in the UK distributing iPads to all students as part of a network known as Apple Distinguished Schools. The school has excellent sporting facilities, including an Astro-turf pitch, multi-use sports hall, six outdoor courts, dance studio and fitness suite, and it even runs a badminton court on Sunday mornings for students and parents!

What is the 11 plus exam pass mark?
Candidates must achieve a standardised score of 111 or above to be eligible to apply for a place.
When will I get the results?
Results will be available online in October, and will always be visible in plenty of time for you to complete the Common Application Form.
Can I appeal for a place?
There are two possible reasons for an appeal. Firstly, if your child scored 111 or above, but was not offered a place due to the school being oversubscribed. Secondly, if your child scored below 111, but you believe that there are extenuating circumstances which mean that your child did not perform to the best of their ability on examination day. In either of these cases, you need to contact the school’s admissions team directly.
What sports does Langley Grammar School offer?
The PE department at Langley Grammar School runs clubs and teams in most sports, including football, netball, hockey, cricket, basketball, trampolining and athletics. The school does not offer swimming.
